Claire Macdonald awarded honorary degree

Internationally renowned award-winning cook and food writer Claire Macdonald is delighted to announce that she is due to receive an Honorary Doctorate of Arts (Darts) at the University of Abertay Dundee graduation ceremony in July this year.

She and her family run the acclaimed Kinloch Lodge on the Isle of Skye where Claire Macdonald delivers her famous cookery courses.

Claire Macdonald has published a range of best-selling cookery books and is known as a skilled broadcaster, with particular praise for her cooking programme, Seasonally Scottish, which was filmed in the kitchen of her island home.

Claire commented, “I’m astonished, truly thrilled and utterly flattered to be given this honorary degree.

“I feel constantly fortunate to have spent so much of my life working with food, considering the amount of pleasure it has always given, and continues to give me.

“My honorary degree is an icing on the cake of my life.”

Claire Macdonald will be presented with this very special award alongside successful broadcaster Eddie Mair, Tony Roper a distinguished actor/ playwright and Oliver Davies an inventive scientist at the University of Abertay Dundee graduation ceremony in July.
